Basic Tea for UTI

Uva ursi, rosemary and Oregon grape provide antimicrobial action, complemented here with marshmallow to soothe the mucosa, and horsetail and calendula to help strengthen the urinary epithelial barriers.

Combine equal part. Steep I tablespoon of the mixture per cup of water. Strain and drink freely, a minimum of 4 cups daily.

Basic Tincture for Severe Urinary Tract Infection

To create a more aggressive treatment, a tincture such as this would complement a tea.

Buchu leaves

Oregon grape roots

Echinacea root

Andrographis leaf

Thyme leaves (thymus officinalis)

Combine equal parts. Take 1/2 teaspoon every half hour, reducing as sumptoms improve.

Tea for Urinary Pain

Marshmallow root                                                           4 ounces

Shatavari ( Asparagus racemosus )                              4 ounces

Licorice root ( Glycyrrhiza glabra )                              2 ounces

Soak i tablespoon of the blend in 4 cups of water overnight, when possible, or at least for an hour when needed more rapidly. Bring to a gentle simmer on the lowest possible setting for 5 minutes.  Remove from heat and let stand 30 minutes. Strain through a wire mesh or muslin bag and drink throughout the day.
