Study Shows Bragg ACV Benefits for Adults at Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

This pioneering research done by Dr.Carol Johnston inspired Bragg Health Products to develop a line of vinegar drinks that would make it convenient to have organic apple cider vinegar available in a dose similar to what produced succesful results in the study.

In 2013,Johnston conducted another  study at Arizona State University researching the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar that helps prevent type 2 diabetes. This time participants drank Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar source of vinegar, sweetened with organic herb stevia extract.”We put the appropriate levels of organic apple cider vinegar in these beverages so that people can get the health benefits from it.”states Dr.John Westerdahl,Health Nutritionist for Bragg Live Food Products. With 2 apple cider vinegar servings in each 16-ounce bottle, test subjects drank the equivalent of one tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar twice daily with their meal. They drank the Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Drinks daily for a period of 12 weeks.
The results indicated that ingesting a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar diluted in water twice a day at mealtime can help to lower the glycemic index of that meal.*This is due to the fact that acetic acid, oan oganic acid found naturally in apple cider vinegar, may be effective in inhibiting the enzyme that converts startch into simple sugars! This has beneficial effects on blood glucose concentrations in adults at risk for type 2 diabetes. It helps to improve the insulin response to carbohydrates in meals.IT is also beneficial to people who are trying to lose weight becouse diet that is lower on the glycemic index will help with weight control as well! The authors of this study stated.”These data indicate that vinegar,a simple addition to meals, has antiglucemic effects in adults at risk for type 2 diabetes.”
